UPDATE 11:19 AM

Captain Paul Burch with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office says a second young woman who was also hurt in the ATV crash was treated and released from the hospital.

UPDATE 8:30 AM

The Wildcat Nation is one person smaller but that loss is being felt by so many people.  Earlier this morning dozens of teachers and students gathered for a prayer at the flagpole to honor the memory of 14-year-old Anna Weaver.  Weaver died in an ATV crash Friday afternoon in Mount Vernon.  Today many were holding hands, hugging, singing songs and remembering this freshman student

"It's a tragedy, it's going to leave a big void in all of all hearts because Anna was such a big part of our lives as part of the youth group, sang on praise team she was a softball player, cheerleader and she always just lit up the room every time she walked in it's going to be hard for everyone to move forward.  We take comfort in knowing she's in a lot better place right now," said Citronelle High School teacher and youth pastor Randy Reed.

CITRONELLE, Ala. (WKRG) -- Students are gathering later this morning to honor the memory of a Citronelle High School who died in an ATV crash Friday.  It's expected to be a somber day on campus.

Anna Weaver is being remembered as an honor student, softball pitcher, and cheerleader.  Most of all, she's being remembered as a dear friend.

Weaver was killed in an ATV crash in Mount Vernon Friday afternoon.  Another girl was seriously hurt and a third person on the ATV was not injured according to authorities.

This morning students are planning a "prayer at the pole" at 7.  There's also a balloon release planned for 10:30.  As is standard procedure in Mobile County Public Schools grief counselors will be available.

That's not all they're doing to remember Anna Weaver.  This coming Sunday a benefit will be held to help raise money for funeral expenses at the Calcedeaver Volunteer Fire Department.

For more details on the benefit click here.  If you would like to donate money, a PayPal for funeral expenses has also been set up. Nearly $3,000 has been raised so far. To donate to that click here.
