Netflix[1] hasn’t made any official recommission announcements as yet about its gritty Indian Original Series.
But Sacred Games has received critical acclaim since all eight episodes of the show dropped on the streaming platform in one go.
If Netflix does give Sacred Games season two the go-ahead, work is expected to get underway on filming later this year.
Actor Saif Ali Khan, who portrays police officer Sartaj Singh, previously told Indian publication DNA: “Yes, we should be out with one season every year, if that’s the way ahead.”
Season one of Sacred Games in July 2018, so the second cycle is expected to air on Netflix at a similar time in 2019.

A potential season two of Sacred Games will be available to watch online globally on Netflix.
Only Netflix subscribers can watch Sacred Games.
Episodes can be downloaded to watch on a number of different devices or streamed.
Again, season two is likely to comprise of eight episodes that will cover the second quarter of the novel.
As per Netflix Originals, all eight episodes will drop in one go worldwide for audiences to binge watch.
What will happen in Sacred Games season 2?
Sacred Games is a cinematic adaptation of Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel of the same title and season one only covers the first quarter of the expansive 1,000-page tome.
There are anticipated to be four seasons in total which will complete the adaptation of the book.
Season one set the scene with a tense cat-and-mouse game between Sartaj and gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), who surfaced after years hiding.
He warned Sartaj of an imminent threat to Mumbai in 25 days which would kill “everyone” unless the police detective intervened.
The first run ended on a tense cliffhanger after Sartaj made a startling discovery about the sinister conspiracy set to destroy the Indian city.
Season two will pick up from this loose end and see what happens next as we move ever closer to the potentially catastrophic attack.
There have been reports that TV priest Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi), who was only briefly in the first season, will be the main antagonist in the forthcoming episodes.
Speaking to news site Mid-Day, Tripathi said: "Guruji is a larger-than-life part and will become the most sought-after character in the series. My character becomes as big as Gaitonde.”
A source previously said that Guruji would take on a more “central role” alongside Gaitonde in season two.
The insider added that the priest was actually the “real mastermind” behind the terror plot facing Mumbai.
Season two is likely to give us more of an insight into the rise of Gaitonde.
