How to watch Chilling Adventures of Sabrina online
The Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is released this Friday, October 26 on Netflix[1].
The series, starring Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina, will be available on the streaming service from midnight, California time.
Due to the time difference, this means that UK viewers will be able to watch The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina from 8am on the day.
All 10 episodes of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be available to stream in one go.
For those wanting to download Sabrina for watching offline, Netflix allows users on certain devices to download episodes.
These devices include any iPod, iPad or iPhone on iOS 9.0 or above or any phone or tablet with Android 4.4.2 or later.
Alternatively, any computer or any tablet or computer with Windows 10 will be able to download episodes of Sabrina from Netflix.
If viewers have not previously subscribed to Netflix, they can watch The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for free by signing up for a 30-day free trial of Netflix.
After that, a Netflix subscription costs £5.99, £7.99 or £9.99 depending on how many devices they want to use their account on and what quality of video they want to stream.
UK Netflix subscribers can also watch Riverdale, which is in a shared universe to Sabrina and is based from the same comic book series.
However, the two series will not be crossing over for now.
In March 2018, executive producer Jon Goldwater said the shows would be, “two separate entities for right now".
What will happen in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina?
The official Netflix synopsis reads, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft.
“Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.”
Although the show is based on the same Archie Comics characters as the ‘90s comedy Sabrina the Teenage Witch, lead actress Kiernan Shipka told the Radio Times: “The show is not a reboot of the old one.
“I don’t think that comparisons are even necessary. The only similarities are the archetypes of the characters and then beyond that we’re sort of in our own little world – literally.”
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina began life as a comic book written by Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa in 2014.
In the series, Sabrina Spellman lives with her aunts Hilda (Lucy Davis) and Zelda (Miranda Otto).
She is also helped out by cat Salem, though he will not be the wise-cracking character fans remember from the original Sabrina and there will also be less contact between Sabrina and Salem due to Kiernan Shipka’s serious cat allergy.
