Recreation department cheerleading team tryouts
Tryouts for the Newport Recreation Department's inaugural all-star cheerleading team will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Rogers High School.
Girls and boys ages 14 to18 and currently enrolled in high school are eligible to try out for the team which will be known as the Newport Sharks. The Sharks will participate in four or five varsity-brand cheerleading competitions throughout New England.
