A 14-year-old girl is inspiring her teammates with her determination to never be limited.Claire Moreno is an eighth-grade student at Berry Miller Junior High School in Pearland, Texas.She has cerebral palsy, according to KTRK, and she has to use a wheelchair to get around.Her life-skills teacher, Natalie Pizzo, wanted to get Moreno more involved.So, Moreno tried out cheerleader and the sport has made an impact on her and everyone around her."She loves it," Moreno's mother told KTRK. "It has given her a connection to her school, to her peers, to a schedule."Moreno has not missed a pep rally, practice or game. She knows every cheer and hasn't let her physical limitations stop her."I want people to see that Claire is just like any other 14-year-old girl, who wants to belong and wants to be included and wants experiences that are unforgettable through her school years," said Moreno's mother. "She's getting that."Pizzo told KTRK the teen has made a positive impact on the team, explaining that everyone around her is more kind and accepting of differences because of her."We don't really notice it anymore. She's part of the team and she's our friend," one of Moreno's teammates said.This large part of their team will be missing for the rest of their season.Moreno is having surgery next week.Pizzo said everyone can't wait for her to return.
