FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – On Friday, Sept. 13, the Kraft family and Gillette Stadium will host their second annual half and full marathon at Gillette Stadium. This charitable event will give avid runners an opportunity to run on the same field as the 6-time Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots, while also helping people that experience homelessness all across New England.

During the event, runners will be treated to motivational music and videos, appearances by Patriots alumni and cheerleaders, and other entertainment throughout the evening. Spectators will be able to cheer on runners from the Optum Field Lounge, an indoor and outdoor hospitality space located on field level in the south end zone. The Optum Field Lounge will also serve as the water stop for the race.

Participants for the half marathon will complete 59 laps on the warning track surrounding the Gillette Stadium turf, while the full marathoners will be asked to run more than 118 laps. The course is USA Track & Field certified and will be managed with support from Dave McGillivray Sports Enterprises. It will be the only Boston Marathon qualifier run entirely in an NFL stadium.

"We are excited to once again host this unique charitable event at Gillette Stadium," said Josh Kraft, president of the New England Patriots Foundation. "We had a dedicated group of runners last year, all of whom completed the race while raising more than $90,000 for the Patriots Foundation. Those funds allowed us to purchase hundreds of Empowerment coats for men and women experiencing homelessness and provided support to homeless shelters all across the region. We are looking forward to working with this year's runners and helping to combat homelessness in New England."

Spots for the 2019 Gillette Stadium Half and Full Marathon are limited. Runner selections will be made until all spots are filled and accepted participants will be notified on a rolling basis. Participants will be required to raise a minimum of $3,500. The marathon application can be accessed here.

Gillette Stadium has been home to the six-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots and Major League Soccer's New England Revolution since 2002. The stadium has also hosted the NHL Winter Classic, the nation's biggest concerts, six NCAA lacrosse national championships, international soccer tournaments, the MIAA High School State Football Championships, UMass football games, 5K and 10K road races and many other world-class events.
