Axel Batlle Jr., the Keshequa Central School Class of 2019 valedictorian, began ninth grade with a 95 average and has maintained that average all four years of high school, earning him the distinction of being named valedictorian.

Axel has taken five years of math and science, earning an Advance Designation Diploma with mastery in science.

Axel is a member of National Honor Society, Chess Club and Masterminds.

He has also been a member of the varsity track and soccer teams.

When asked which course helped him to grow as a student, he shared that it was pre-calculus because it was the first course that challenged his natural intelligence and forced him to study.

Axel also shared that the three teachers that had the greatest effect on him were Mr. Goho, Mrs. Pero and Mr. Adams.

Axel plans to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to study engineering. Axel was recognized June 10, at the Keshequa Senior Scholarship Awards for his academic achievement.

Salutatorian loves science and wants to use it to help people

Taylor Martin, the Keshequa Central School Class of 2019 salutatorian, is a young lady who has lived each day demonstrating "KCS Tribe" attributes of perseverance, respect, integrity, dependability and empathy.

She has taken math and science all four years of high school and will be earning an Advance Designation Diploma with mastery in science due to having a minimum of 90 on all of her science Regent exams.

When asked which course had the greatest impact on her, Taylor stated that calculus has been the course that has helped her to grow the most as it showed her what to expect in college and taught her how to effectively study.

The three teachers that have had an impact on her are Mr. Gath, Mrs. Pero and Mr. Macomber.

Taylor is active in many school groups, being a member of band and chorus for four years, a class officer, a member of National Honor Society, Rotary Interact Club and Yearbook.

Taylor has also cheered for Keshequa and has been named to the 2019 Ronald McDonald House All-Star Cheerleader squad.

Taylor plans to study to be an osteopathic physician at Rochester Institute of Technology as she loves science and wants to help people.

Taylor was recognized June 10, at the Keshequa Senior Scholarship Awards for her academic achievement.

The "fork" ratings are based primarily on food quality and preparation, with service and atmosphere factored into the final decision. Reviews are based on one unsolicited, unannounced visit to the restaurant.
