The 20-year-old woman killed in a Boston crash Sunday was identified by friends and her former high school as Amber Pelletier of Central Falls, Rhode Island.

Her obituary said she was a 2016 graduate of La Salle Academy in Providence. She had just finished her junior year at St. Leo University in Florida where she was majoring in psychology.

Pelletier minored in education and hoped to complete graduate school and counsel children in hospitals, according to the obituary.

"As a young girl and throughout college, she participated regionally and nationally in cheerleading and dance," the obituary said. "She participated in the Patriots Junior Cheerleading program and for many years was with the Dance Theater of Rhode Island in Cumberland. She was a National Grand Champion in dance competition."

La Salle Academy Principal Don Kavanagh released a statement to about the young woman's death. In it, he said:

"Our hearts are heavy at La Salle Academy as we remember the wonderful life of Amber Pelletier, Class of 2016. Amber was a caring and socially conscious young woman who made a difference at La Salle and in her community by volunteering with 'Lasallian Youth.' In a difficult time like this, we turn to our Catholic teachings to guide us. Our prayers go out to her family and friends as they celebrate the gift of her life and offer them our support as they cope with this tragic loss."

Pelletier's grandmother works as a cashier at the school's cafeteria.

A GoFundMe page to help raise money for her service described her as a "warm, kind-hearted individual who made everyone smile and laugh around her."

Pelletier was a passenger in a car that rolled over on Bennington Street early Sunday morning in Boston. Authorities said another woman was injured in the crash. She is expected to survive.

Dylan Etheridge, 22, of East Boston, was arraigned Monday in court on several charges including motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.

The Suffolk District Attorney's Office said a judge set bail at $1,000 and ordered Etheridge to wear a GPS monitor and remain alcohol-free.

Authorities accuse Etheridge of speeding on Bennington Street before the crash around 1:10 a.m. Sunday. His car struck several parked vehicles and a cement planter before rolling over.

Etheridge left the scene, but was later arrested Sunday, the district attorney's office said.
