MANITOWOC - A 29-year-old Manitowoc man, and former cheerleading coach, was arrested Feb. 27 after he tried to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex, the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office said.

Eric J. Fisher was arrested on suspicion of soliciting intimate representation from a minor, attempting to expose a child to harmful material, and use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, the sheriff's office said in a release.

According to the sheriff's office, in mid-February, a Manitowoc Police Department School Resource Officer was informed by a student that she received inappropriate messages on social media from Fisher, her previous cheer and dance coach at Galaxy All-Star Cheerleading, previously at 1107 Franklin St.

On Feb. 27, the sheriff's office said it assisted with the investigation and began chatting with Fisher on social media disguised as the 15-year-old. Fisher then agreed to meet with the the "15-year-old girl" to engage in sexual activity.

Detectives at the sheriff's office coordinated efforts with other local and state agencies and met with Fisher on South Ninth Street. Investigators witnessed Fisher arrive at the scene and took him into custody, the release said.

Fisher is being held at Manitowoc County Jail on $50,000 cash bail. His initial court appearance is schedule for 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing and investigators are continuing to determine if additional victims or witnesses may have been involved. Anyone with more information is asked to call Detective Bret Oswald of the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office at 920-683-5011.
