First up, the Classic Cars and College Cheerleaders Parade in downtown.
The parade started off with a toast, then spectators got to see exactly what's in the title: classic cars and college cheerleaders!
The Grand Marshal for the parade was Brigadier General Sherian Grace Cadoria. She was the highest-ranking female officer at the time of her retirement back in 1990.
Then over at the Alexandria Riverfront Center was the annual Taste of Mardi Gras event. A single ticket gave you access to a room full of booths from local restaurants, where you could sample some of the best food and drinks in Central Louisiana.
This was just the beginning of a weekend full of activities. For information on what else is happening around Cenla, check the "Related Links" tab.
