Kern Valley High School honored their student-athletes on Awards Night.

The teams selected an MVP of the team and also handed out awards to those athletes that performed well in the classroom.

Also three coaches excepted plaques for being High Desert League champions. Those coaches were Wes Woody (wrestling), Bill Gallis (varsity girls basketball) and Aaron LaFarga (jayvee boys basketball).

Here are the academic award winners followed by the MVP(s) of each Kern Valley team:

Girls Soccer: Abby Achorn, Arika D' Amico, Abigaile Goulding, Angela Lezama, Hannah Ocampo, Brooke Watson, Molly Watson, and Isabella Williams.
MVP(s):Rachel Driskell and Booke Watson.

Varsity Girls Basketball: Mariah Maxwell, Bradlie Preston, Hannah Hurley, Sadi Hartman and Sharon Reyes.
MVP: Hannah Hurley
Most Improved Player:Adeline Goudling

Varsity Cheerleading: Summer Dourlain, Kelli Gideon, Helen Hayes, Sierra McQuain and Aryan Meyers.
Outstanding Varsity Cheerleader: Helen Hayes

Varsity Boys Basketball: Tanner Tito, Jeffrey Cawein and Spenser Hansen.
MVP: Anthony Barton
Most Improved Player: Jeffrey Cawein.

Boys Soccer: Brett Grimsby, Peyton Jones and Nick Thomas.
MVP: James Meachem
Most Improved Player: Zachary Goss

Boys Wrestling: Dean Hinkey and Brayden Liberio.
