Pride team wins two titles - The Independent

LLOYD – The Pride Junior team from Pride Athletics returned home from the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Fla, with two titles – national champions and world champions.

The victories are a repeat of last year when the junior team took both titles as well.

In the world championships, the juniors beat out teams from Costa Rica, Mexico and Colombia as well as three other teams from the United States.

In addition, the Pride Youth finished fourth in nationals and Pride Senior finished second in nationals and fifth in the world school division.

The Pride teams train at Pride Athletics Center.

This is the third year their teams have competed in national competition.

The Greenup County cheerleaders placed seventh at last week's competition.
