Sparta High School Honors Senior Cheerleaders - TAPinto.net

SPARTA, NJ – The high school honored their senior cheerleaders last week. Before the game the athletes were called to the center of the field where they met their families, as their biography was announced.

After the midfield ceremony, senior football players gave corsages to the senior cheerleaders, thanking them for the support they provide.

Jenna Beebe was escorted by her sister Grace and two best friends Megan and Kayla.  This is Beebe's second season with the varsity squad.  She has been a cheerleader for nine years.  Beebe's favorite memory as a cheerleader was cheer camp last year and thanked her coaches and teammates for always making cheer fun.

Beebe plans to attend a four year university.

Jess Berghofer was escorted by her mother Christine and her grandfather Brad. This is Berghofer's third year with the squad.  She also sings in the Honor's Choir. In her free time Berghofer works at Krogh's Restaurant and Brew Pub and she is a Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta where she teaches Sunday School to children ages three to five.   

Berghofer plans to continue her education at a four year liberal arts college.

Katie Carrigan was escorted by her parents Karen and Dean.  Carrigan joined the squad three years ago when the athletic director and football players came the to special services classroom and invited her to be a water girl. Carrigan had her eyes on becoming a cheerleader and has experienced a wonderful time cheering for the team at home and away games.

Carrigan will walk in the June graduation ceremony but will return for the post graduate program.  Her future is bright and as big as her dreams.

Evalyn Fitzsimmons was escorted by her mother, father and brother.  This is Fitzsimons's second year with the varsity squad and ninth as a cheerleader. This year she is captain and is excited to compete in the Kutztown qualifier for nationals in Florida.  She is hopeful of fulfilling her dream of making it to the UCA nationals. 

Fitzsimmons plans to attend a four year university and continue as a cheerleader.

Cameron Leary was escorted by her parents Kim and Dan and brothers Owen and Braeden.  This is Leary's second year on the varsity squad and is a captain this year.  Her favorite cheerleading memory is getting a bid to the UCA nationals last year and hopes to repeat this year.

Leary plans to attend Montclair State University to study business and graphic design.

Kate McGovern was escorted by her parents Patti and Mike and her sister Sarah.  This is McGovern's second year on the varsity squad and she is captain this year.  McGovern has been cheering for 10 years.  She has coached the Sparta Youth Competition cheer team for four years. Her favorite memories of cheering at Sparta High School are receiving a bid to 2018 nationals and performing in the camp talent show with the other seniors. 

McGovern plans to attend a four year university and hopes to continue cheering in college.
