The Suffolk County Youth Cheerleading Association is holding its first Finals Competition on Sunday, Nov. 24. Many Sachem teams will be taking the mat at Rocky Point High School and they need Sachem fans in the stands wearing Sachem colors and participating with the callbacks of the cheer.
The competition kicks off at 8 a.m. Admission for one session is $6 for adults, $3 for children and free for 3 and under. Admission for two sessions is $10 for adults, $5 for children and free for 3 and under. Admission for three sessions is $15 for adults, $8 for children and free for 3 and under.
Each weekend, since Oct. 13, the cheer teams have been competing against local youth leagues, getting better and perfecting their routines to all lead up to this final competition.
Representing Sachem are teams in the 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13-year-old divisions. The 8, 10, 12, and 13-year-old teams are currently undefeated in their respective age divisions this season.
Sachem Sports Club is a non-profit youth organization that has offered cheerleading for ages 5 and up, in areas of competitive cheer, game day cheer and sideline cheering in the Sachem community for over 10 years.
