NEW CASTLE – Two Dubois County cheerleading teams will compete Saturday in the Indiana Cheer Championship state finals at New Castle High School.
Jasper, in Varsity B, and Northeast Dubois, in Varsity Coed, emerged from last Saturday's prelims at Greenfield-Central High School among the 40 teams who qualified for this week's state finals.
The competition initially featured 62 varsity teams, with the top 60% advancing to the finals. The Indiana Association of School Principals, Department of Student Programs, sponsors the Indiana Cheer Championship, a series of competitions exclusively for Indiana school cheerleaders.
