SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Each year the proceeds of the Spotswood 5K are presented to two athletic teams or programs at Spotswood High School. This year's annual September run through the borough netted $2,908. At the October 7 Spotswood Borough Council meeting, a resolution was passed to allow the proceeds to be split between the Spotswood High School cheerleading and wrestling teams. Each team will receive a check from the borough in the amount of $1,454.
Spotswood annual 5K takes place on the second Saturday of September. Milltown's Tim Yarnall, a member of the Spotswood High School cross country team, crossed the finish line first with a time of 18:53.3.
