I wasn't a cheerleader in high school. But, I have become a metaphorical one through the years for both entrepreneurs and amazing brands. With that said, I never knew how much athleticism was actually involved with cheer—until recently.
Over the last few months, I have submersed myself into celebrity trainer Lauren Boggi's Studio LB online fitness subscription, where Boggi teaches her proprietary method of Cardio Cheer Sculpting that blends high-energy dance choreography with intense strength and conditioning routines. I now have a new found respect for the power and coordination needed for cheer. My body has never looked or felt stronger.

Boggi, who trained as a Pilates instructor at Pilates On Fifth and taught in New York City and Philadelphia explains, "While Pilates was transformational in helping me rehab a rotator cuff injury, eventually I found myself and my clients languishing in the monotony of the rigid routines and craving more freedom and variety. I missed the sexy upbeat energy of collegiate cheerleading as well as my physique."
After running four studios and getting requests to open up additional studios stateside as well as abroad, Boggi launched Studio LB in 2016. "Ultimately, when you're operating brick and mortar studios, you're operating studios rather than teaching and I wasn't fulfilled. The bigger you become, the more you're pushed into the business side of things and I'm a creative. That is where my talent lies," says Boggi.

"Studio LB was the answer, since anyone anywhere could access the workouts at a much lower cost (the cost of one month is less than two classes at a studio) and I really wanted to do what I was great at which is teaching and being on camera," continues Boggi.
One of the distinguishing features that makes Studio LB's membership unique is it's programming. "We release four new workouts each week: two 50-minute workouts and two Quick Burns, which are workouts under thirty-minutes that are especially popular for new moms and women with demanding jobs," explains Boggi.
Each week, Boggi also emails her Studio LB members a schedule outlining which sessions to complete each day of the week, taking the guesswork out of scheduling. "If you follow our weekly schedule they will leave no part of your body untouched. Studio LB is very results oriented. I want our members to be confident, feel strong and love every part of themselves," Boggi says.
While many of Boggi's core moves, which she lays out in her beginner series, are consistent throughout each week's program, every workout Boggi creates offers members new choreographed sequences that keep the program continually fresh and constantly challenging the body and the mind.
"Each month begins a bit more basic and we build in intensity as the weeks progress," continues Boggi. "I create a blend of high-energy cardio with sculpting using free weights, resistance loops, ankle weights, and other props to create muscle balance in the entire body. My goal is to consistently create Studio LB workouts for my subscribers that are equal parts challenging and fun because if either component is lacking, you will never see results."
The dramatic results Boggi's members achieve speak for themselves and is one of the many reasons her followers are so loyal. In early 2019, to enable subscribers to be able to take their workouts anywhere their lives may go, Studio LB launched their IOS app.

This has been especially helpful for our members who love to travel or might not have a great WiFi connection at home. An app for Android is on deck."
For those who want to train with Boggi in person (as well as connect with other members within the worldwide Studio LB community), you can sign up for one of her activation retreats she holds a few times a year. The next Studio LB Activation will be held May 9-16, 2020 in Sayulita, Mexico at Haramara, a down-to-earth, eco-lux resort nestled on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra Madre Mountains. "It's the perfect opportunity to disconnect from the real world and reconnect with your body," says Boggi.
"Imagine one week to focus on yourself: build interpersonal connections, grow your confidence, eat fabulous food, sweat twice a day by the sea, and lose inches and pounds without going hungry? This is LB Activation, a life-changing fitness and wellness retreat I lead that garners unparalleled results while surrounded by a support system of like-minded people."

Now, The Mirror is making waves bringing more on-demand, high tech options into our homes. I believe that a few years down the line, interactive fitness options will be more financially within reach for non-celebrities."
"Through our own platform, pop-ups worldwide, Studio LB instructors, props, merchandise, nutrition, integrating more interactivity between myself and my subscribers, and syncing up their fitness wearables would be great for user experience and goal tracking down the line. I'd also like to incorporate other movement modalities like Yoga."
Boggi's energy is magnetic. She smiles through every session and working out with her in the comfort of my home (or wherever I am) feels like we are old friends working out together. Plus she cheers me (and every other viewer) on in the process. Boggi is also great at giving cues and providing modifications. I also appreciate that Boggi doesn't take herself too seriously and doesn't edit out her getting the choreography mixed up or losing her balance.

Now that Boggi isn't confined to teaching in a studio, I ask her what the best part of her newly found freedom is in the digital realm? "Ironically it's so much more personal than teaching in person," she tells me.
"I receive texts, direct messages, phone calls, and emails every day working through pitfalls, sharing sweaty selfies, and celebrating victories," Boggi tells me. "I feel like I'm on a journey with each and every user and I find gratitude when they share their incredible successes and I love it!"
