This type of play is pretty common in football although this time, an unsuspecting Louisville cheerleader was hit with the ball square in the nose.

Last night, Notre Dame started their season by playing against Louisville and as you would expect, they came out victorious.

The Fighting Irish and Cardinals struggled to find success throughout much of the first half.

Despite all of the action on the field, the only thing people were talking about was an errant pass from Book. Book, who was just looking to limit the damage and unload the ball before taking a sack, fired the ball over to the Louisville sideline. But that didn't stop her from making a few jokes about the situation.

"I've never liked my nose anyways", she said on Instagram. Scott handled the aftermath of her misfortune with a wonderful amount of levity, proving a broken nose doesn't necessarily mean a broken sense of humor.

Book, meanwhile, completed 14-of-23 passes for 193 yards and one touchdown on the night.

Though the Fighting Irish finished the night with a 35-17 win over the Cardinals, the cheerleader became the day's biggest social media star.

The Fighting Irish (1-0) are off this weekend before hosting New Mexico on September 14.
