Other People's Houses

All My Children alum Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart) is returning to network TV as the lead in Fox's upcoming Other People's Houses. Gellar will also co-executive produce the suburban dramedy, which is described as a cross between Big Little Lies and Catastrophe, and is based on the novel by Abbi Waxman. The show will reunite her with Ringer creators Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, as well as Neil Meron. Other People's Houses is set in a "quiet, affluent neighborhood of Larchmont Village in Los Angeles" and will feature a core ensemble cast of nine navigating life and relationships across the real world and social media. Gellar will portray working mom and social media influencer Anne Porter, opposite stay-at-home mom Frances Bloom. The actress, who is a social media influencer and entrepreneur in her own right, gushed about the news on Instagram, writing, "Im so excited to finally tell everyone, that I am going to be re-teaming with Nicole Snyder and Eric Charmelo (and partnering with the incomparable @neilmeron ) on a new project @foxtv set in (no less) the world of social media. Big things to come!! #otherpeopleshouses #oph." She is also set to star and executive produce a limited series book-to-screen adaptation of ex-BBC journalist Alice Feeney's Sometimes I Lie.

The Wrong Cheerleader

Bold and Beautiful's Lesli Kay (Felicia Forrester) and Young and the Restless alum Vivica A. Fox (Dr. Angela Foster, The Bay; ex-Stephanie Simmons, Generation's Maya Reubens) are set to star in a Lifetime movie titled The Wrong Cheerleader. Kay will play Eliza while Fox will portray cheerleader squad coach Ms. Flynn who helps guide protagonist Becky (Cristine Prosperi, Degrassi) through the drama of going from wallflower to popular girl dealing with an obsessive boyfriend (David Meza, The Wrong Roommate). Fox also co-produced the show, which premieres on September 8 at 8:00 P.M. EST.

Chicago Med

General Hospital alum Dominic Rains (Dr. Leo Julian) is heading to NBC's Chicago Med for their fifth season, recurring in the role of Dr. Crockett Marcel, the hospital's newest emergency department doctor. Described as a Louisiana native, Marcel "gambles, drinks and parties all night, but hooks himself to an IV drip in the morning to slide into work." Rains' apparently ethically challenged character is said to potentially become a series regular. The former daytime actor has kept busy since leaving General Hospital, most recently seen in recurring roles on shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and a starring turn in indie film A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night.Chicago Med's new season premieres Wednesday September 25 at 8:00 P.M. EST.

The Bay spinoff

Twins Bianca and Chiara D'Ambrosio (ex-Summer Newman, Young and the Restless) are heading to The Bay's spinoff, an original series for Amazon Prime Video created by Gregory J. Martin and former General Hospital showrunner Wendy Riche. Tentatively titled yA, the young adult series will follow sisters Frankie and Regan Sanders as they move from a rural West Coast town to a multi-million dollar estate in waterfront California. Characters from The Bay will crossover and new faces will appear, such as Mike C. Manning (Teen Wolf) and Lane Davies. The D'Ambrosio twins are no stranger to reality-style TV, leading A Day in the Life, and most recently appearing on Nickelodeon's Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn. The twins also thanked daytime for their support on Instagram, writing "We are so excited to share our news about this new show! We were so fortunate for the @youngandrestlesscbs giving us our first recurring role as an actor. Now we are excited to work on @thebaytheseries and spin-off @yaseries! Nathan Fillion fans, rejoice: the One Life to Live alum (Joey Buchanan) is headed to DC Comics-verse in Suicide Squad in a secret role. He will star opposite Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher), Flula Borg and Steve Agee (King Shark). This isn't Fillion's first foray into science fiction and fantasy, having gained a cult following as Captain Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds on Firefly and Serenity, voicing an inmate in Guardians of the Galaxy, and starring as mystery novelist crimefighter Richard 'Rick' Castle on ABC's Castle.Suicide Squad is written by embattled scriptwriter James Gunn and is set to premiere on August 6, 2021.

Chris McKenna (ex-Joey Buchanan, One Life to Live; Mark Harding, Young and the Restless) will appear in The Will, an upcoming romantic drama based on the first novel in a series by Kristen Ashley. McKenna will play retired boxer and club owner Jake, opposite Megan Dodds' Josie/Josephine, two characters whose fates are intertwined by their small town and the love and matchmaking of a mutual connection.
