Denise Richards has dealt with a lot of nasty behavior on her hit show The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

But in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, the 48-year-old actress shares that she has dealt with bad attitude her whole life.

The mother-of-three said there were 'catty girls' on her high school cheerleading team that refused to be inclusive or positive. And the former Bond girl added that the difference now is that there is social media to egg all the ugly on.

The subject came up as Denise was asked about her new TV movie The Secret Life Of Cheerleaders with Savannah May and Alexandria DeBerry, which debuts on September 2.

'I was a cheerleader in high school,' said the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen. 'And there were always catty girls around, it's nothing new.

'There was pressure to look a certain way and have a certain body. Everyone felt it.'

But these days it is much worse.

'That's because there are cell phones where people can be cruel, or worse, record something private and share it. Then people join in.'

Caring: In her new TV movie she plays a mother who moves her daughter to a new town. She encourages her to join the cheerleading team as an outlet. 'She is more caring and guiding than a stage mom. Her intentions are good,' said Denise

She hopes things will change in the future for the sake of her three daughters Sam, 15, Lola, 14, and Eloise, seven.

'I am a mom to three girls so I think about it a lot, it worries me,' she tells DailyMail. 'I always tell them to stay positive and be kind. There is so much pressure on all these kids now. It needs to lighten up.'

As far as starring on RHOBH, Richards says she is happy that she has become a fan favorite.

'I am pleasantly surprised that the audience likes me,' Denise told DailyMail.com. 'You know, it could have gone either way. They could have disliked me.

'Before I joined the show I wondered if I would be a good fit because all of the women are so into fashion and dressing up, and here I am this Malibu girl who wears jeans and T-shirts. But I think my style has worked well with everyone else's.'

As far as all the drama that comes with the show she says all the constant ups and downs are fine with her: 'I thrive on the unknown.'
