PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A fun evening at the Pulaski County fair took a scary turn when 8 people became trapped on a ride.
They were stuck for more than an hour Thursday before being brought to safety.
"I think it was the scariest moment I've ever had with her," said Jinny Brinson.
Brinson was powerless as she watched her daughter trapped nearly 60 feet in the air on a ride called the "alter ego" for more than an hour.
"It was very scary because as a mom you just think of all the scenarios that can go wrong the arms breaking, you know if it let go and started swinging. You have all these bad thoughts all I wanted to do was hug her," said Brinson.
But she couldn't. Instead she became her daughter MaKenzee's cheerleader trying to keep her calm.
"I was okay for the first half of it and then after that I started thinking what can go wrong, got really scared started shaking really bad, crying," said MaKenzee.
They tell me Jinny was the only one yelling up to the riders, and that the workers didn't say a word to try comfort people.
The entire time they did not communicate with the riders they didn't try yelling at them comforting them they didn't say anything which I didn't like at all," said Jinny.
The workers did eventually rescue them by throwing ropes over the sides and manually pulling the riders down to safety.
Jinny says she hugged MaKenzee tight.
Makenzee and her mother say the ride has not ran since Thursday.
Fair officials declined to comment on the incident, telling us all decisions on rides are made by Kissel Entertainment.
