A Murray State cheerleader is facing a first-degree rape charge.
Dannis Seay, 25, of Murray, was arraigned in Calloway County Circuit Court on Tuesday, July 2.
Seay, a graduate student, entered a not guilty plea.
According to the court docket, the charge is considered first-degree because the victim was "incapable of consent/physically helpless."
First-degree rape is a Class B felony that carries a punishment of up to 10 to 20 years in prison.
Seay is currently out of jail on bond.
