As a team, they received the Herkie Spirit Award for "exemplifying what it means to be a cheerleader, voted on by the whole camp," according to head coach Ariel Bennett. In addition, Emily Contreras was honored as All-American and Morgan Smith, taking over Tiggy duties this year, was voted the best all-around mascot, the leadership awarded and garnered All-American Mascot distinction.

The Sealy High School varsity cheerleading squad came away from last week's camp with a plethora of awards, displaying their readiness for the return of Friday night lights.

As a team, they received the Herkie Spirit Award for "exemplifying what it means to be a cheerleader, voted on by the whole camp," according to head coach Ariel Bennett.
