Several Knights, Warriors, Griffins college-bound - The Herald-NewsLincoln-Way Central student athletes at last week's college signing event at the New Lenox campus featured athletes from different sports.

NEW LENOX – The campuses in Lincoln-Way Community High School Districts 210 and 220 held special ceremonies last week for student athletes who made their college commitments in a variety of sports.

Knights have 17 college signees: Lincoln-Way Central had 17 athletes sign college letters last week. Making their college decisions were Abi Baumgartner, Wisconsin-Whitewater (basketball); Megan Cales, Carthage (water polo); Christina Cassara, Purdue (cheerleading); Andrew Englert, Nebraska (cross country, track and field); Connor Erickson, Aurora (soccer); Jacob Erickson, Wisconsin-Platteville (track and field); Nicolette Gossage, Northern Illinois (soccer); Alexis Kamp, Olivet Nazarene, (track and field); Kyle Labedz, Milwaukee School of Engineering (baseball); Dani Lauer, Aurora (volleyball); Hunter Opiola, Quincy (lacrosse); Dylan Post, Houston (baseball); Nathan Purcell, Moraine Valley (basketball); Tim Rybarczyk, Triton (baseball); Jason Sall, Erskine (volleyball); Samantha Vorderer, St. Mary's (volleyball); and Jack Yurkanin, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (volleyball).

Warriors have big signing group: Lincoln-Way West athletes who signed to continue their athletics careers were announced this week. Those who signed included Dylan Adair, Purdue Northwest (golf); Kylee Brandau, Wisconsin-Oshkosh (soccer); Nathan Clendenning, Saint Xavier (basketball); Chris Dargan, Trine (volleyball); David Flores, Ball State (volleyball), Tara Hastings, Concordia (basketball); Tyler Holubek, Concordia (volleyball); Jack Hrvatin, Stevenson (volleyball); Brianna Knezz, Moraine Valley (volleyball); Sara Loichinger, Olivet Nazarene (soccer ); Louden Moran (Stevens Institute), volleyball; Ben Pluskota, North Central (volleyball); Megan Shelton, Concordia, (soccer); Brendan Sturm, Benedictine (baseball) and Sarah Taheny, St. Francis (softball).
