Riverhead PAL will host youth football and cheerleading registration in person Tuesday, May 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shade Tree Center in Aquebogue.
Football will be offered to boys and girls ages 7-13, while ages 5 and 6 will only be able to register for flag football. Flag football players must by 5 by Sept. 1, 2019 and the cost is $50 for Riverhead Town residents; $60 for non-residents.
Football players will be measured at registration for a jersey, pants and girdle and must be 7 by Sept 1, 2019 and must not be 14 by Sept. 1, 2019. The cost is $190 for town residents and $200 for non-residents. Practice will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Stotzky Park, beginning mid-July and running through mid-November. Games will be Sundays September November at various fields throughout Suffolk County. Football players may register online at riverheadpalfootball.siplay.com or by mail after obtaining forms from the Juvenile Aid Bureau.
Cheerleading is available to girls entering grades 2-6 and all cheerleaders can only register in person. All girls will be measured for uniforms and are asked to wear a bathing suit to registration. The cost is $90 for Riverhead Town residents; $100 for non-residents. Practice begins mid July, and will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Stotzky Park. Games will take place on Sundays at various locations throughout Suffolk County.
