B-U's Marteney named to All-Big 10 Cheer squad - Record Delta

BRIDGEPORT– Buckhannon-Upshur senior cheerleader Amanda Marteney was named to the All-Big 10 Cheerleading squad Sunday during the Big 10 Cheer banquet at Bridgeport Convention Center.

Marteney is a two-year member of the Buckhannon-Upshur cheerleading squad, but never cheered before her junior year.

"In two years she became one of the elite flyers of Class AAA cheer," remarked her head coach Debbie Shapiro. "This year, she earned point flyer position and center jump position on our competition squad, the two most important positions on the team. She is by far one the most athletic and hardworking young ladies I have had the privilege to coach. She exemplifies hard work and dedication."
