The Super Bowl champion New England Patriots are giving back to New Hampshire military families. On Thursday, seven Patriots players and cheerleaders ran a football and cheerleading clinic at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. It benefited children of servicemen and women from the New Hampshire Air National Guard and U.S. Navy.>> Download the FREE WMUR app"It's very meaningful. It's special. I guess it's one of the perks of being in the military is things like this," said Karl Smith of the Air National Guard and a Durham resident. "The families do a lot, give back to their country and so this is just a little thing I'm doing to play with their kids for a little while," said Patriots running back Brandon Bolden.Patriots long snapper Joe Cardona has a special connection to the event. In addition to playing in the NFL, he's a U.S. Navy Officer. He and his teammates appreciate the chance to give back."Each member of the family really plays a vital role in service, very appreciative for these kids and their family and the role they play in securing our nation," said Cardona.

"It's very meaningful. It's special. I guess it's one of the perks of being in the military is things like this," said Karl Smith of the Air National Guard and a Durham resident.

"The families do a lot, give back to their country and so this is just a little thing I'm doing to play with their kids for a little while," said Patriots running back Brandon Bolden.

Patriots long snapper Joe Cardona has a special connection to the event. In addition to playing in the NFL, he's a U.S. Navy Officer. He and his teammates appreciate the chance to give back.

"Each member of the family really plays a vital role in service, very appreciative for these kids and their family and the role they play in securing our nation," said Cardona.
