Fonda-Fultonville hosts winter sports awards night | News, Sports, Jobs - Gloversville Leader-Herald

FONDA — The Fonda-Fultonville Central School District hosted its annual winter awards night March 11 in the high school auditorium.

From the boys basketball team, Jackson Atty earned the James C. Lippie Memorial Most Valuable Player award.

Mitch Araya earned the Leading Rebounder Award.

Also earning boys basketball awards were John Mancini (Coach's Award), Angelo Canale (Coach's Award), Tyler Blowers (Most Improved), Massimo DiCaprio (110% Award) and Andrew Georgia (Best Newcomer).

Abigail Lombardoni was named the Jennifer Freeman Memorial MVP for the girls basketball team for the second straight year, while Marilyn Whitcavitch earned the Most Improved and Top Rebounder awards.

Also earning girls basketball awards were Jillian Wilder (Hustle Award) and Krystle McSpirit (Coach's Award).

Owen Hicks was named the wrestling MVP and earned the Fastest Pin Award (20 seconds).

Alex Saltsman picked up the Most Improved Award, while Kyle Gray (Most Dedicated) and Loretta Newcomer (Coach's Award) also earned wrestling awards.

Emilia Vardai-Davidson was named the Avis E. Lippie Memorial Most Valuable Performer for the girls indoor track and field team.

Madison Nichols (Best Sprinter), Haley Clear (Best Distance Runner), Sierra Rose (Best Field Performer), Amaya Vainauskas (Best Newcomer) and Janiece Roman (Best Newcomer) also earned awards.

From the boys indoor track and field team, Myles Andersen and Shane Viscosi shared the FFCS Track & Field Alumni Most Valuable Performer award.

Viscosi also was named Best Distance Runner. Also earning awards were Liam Viscosi (Best Sprinter), Carter Petersen (Best Field Performer) and Bennett Melita (Best Newcomer).

Connor Barnes was named the boys bowling MVP, while Dylan Livingston (Coach's Award) and Matt Bowler (Most Improved) also earned awards. From the girls bowling team, Crystal Coleman (MVP), Anastasia Montano (Coach's Award) and Maureen McGaha (Most Improved) earned honors.

Connor Harding was named the MVP of the boys swim team, while Charles Hervy was named Most Improved.

The cheerleading awards went to Giulia Bravi (Most Valuable Cheerleader), Kjersti Tennebo (Most Valuable Cheerleader), Hailie Downing (Most Dedication) and Madison Houser (Coach's Award).
