The JJ Sapphires team took home a paid Gold bid qualifying their team for US Finals Cheer Nationals, earned zero deductions from their routine and won Grand Champions (highest score in prep and novice division). The team is currently undefeated. The Sapphires competed amongst higher levels and still managed to create an upset in the overall win.
The team consists of eight talented athletes:
- Rachel Seigerman
- Ariana Lynn
- Anabelle Lynn
- Imani Green
- Tiffany Tabares
- Elise Clifton
- Allison Maloney
- Sofia Sorvino
"This group of hard-working athletes, came together this season without ever competing together before and in six short months have bonded in a way every coach dreams that their team will," said head coach and owner Cynthia Condito. They have realized the magic formula to winning and that is trust, train, respect, and teamwork! The sky is the limit for them this season. I could not be prouder of our 8 Great Sapphires."
Condito has been coaching for over 25 years and started Jerzey Jewelz in 2009 with one team and 15 high school girls. 10 years later the Jewelz program has grown to over 80 athletes 6 teams and boys and girls ranging in age from 4-18.
Coaches Brianna Biezewski-Carter and Nicole Harrell worked tirelessly and had great encouragement for the athletes, Condito said.
"We are blessed with a great group of athletes this season," Biezewski-Carter said. "Coach Nicole and myself are incredibly proud of how hard these girls are working and all that they've accomplished. Their progress does not go unnoticed. We are excited to see what the rest of the season holds."
All competitors received a national champion medal. The team received their first team jackets.
The team now moves on to compete on May 4 - 5, in Providence, Rhode Island, in the US Finals. Only teams that received a Gold Bid are invited to attend.
