The Fergus High School Cheerleaders will be hosting CheerFest 2019 this Friday, March 15. This competition will feature over 235 cheerleaders, dancers, and mascots ranging from junior high through high school from across the state, making CheerFest the largest competition for school teams in Montana. Fergus Fieldhouse doors open at 4:15pm and the competition starts at 5:00pm. College cheerleaders will be showing off their skills during a pre-show starting at 4:45pm.
Twenty-one cheer and dance teams will be competing in dance and mascot solos, duos, and trios, as well as cheer team, dance team, stunt group, jump-off, tumble-off, and basket toss competitions. Locals participating in the event include the Fergus High School Cheerleaders and dancers from the Dance Syndicate. There will also be representatives from college cheer programs on-site helping with judging.
The community is encouraged to attend the competition to show their support of our local teams. Lewistown Public School students will be admitted free of charge. Concessions will be available. New in 2019…. To help prepare for competition, the Fergus Cheer Team is inviting the public to a Showcase, where they will debut their competition routines for the first time. This free event is taking place on Thursday, March 14 at 7:30pm at the Fergus High Fieldhouse. Come and watch the cheerleaders, mascot, and stunt groups perform their routines and wish them well before their big competition.
