MOUNT VERNON, Ala. -- Citronelle High School, via social media, on Saturday named the student who was killed Friday in an ATV accident in Mount Vernon.
The school said on its Facebook page that Anna Weaver, an honor student, was "loved and known by the entire student body and faculty."
Weaver was a softball player and a cheerleader, according to the Facebook post.
The ATV crash happened Friday afternoon near Shepard House Road. Another teenage girl was reported hurt in the accident.

Our Citronelle High School Family will mourn the loss of our dear, Anna Weaver, who passed away yesterday (3/8/19). Anna was an honor student, softball player (pitcher), and cheerleader. Anna was loved and known by the entire student body and faculty. Her smile and bright personality filled our hallways, classrooms, and our community with a glorious light that seem to shine through her. She made an impact on us all.
Anna Weaver will be greatly missed. The love and encouragement that she gave others will never be forgotten.

A benefit event is planned to help pay for funeral costs. It will be held March 17 at 11 a.m. at the Calcedeaver Volunteer Fire Department.
A PayPal fund also has been set up to help cover funeral expenses.
