We're live
Staten Island Advance
We're live
Welcome everyone!
Get ready to cheer, cheer, cheer.
We're live at the 2019 Staten Island CYO Championships at the College of Staten Island.
Competition will take place in the three divisions today -- Varsity, Debs and the Biddy.
The Debs is broken down into two groups -- Large Schools and Small Schools.
There is no scoring in the Biddy division.
Poll results
The voting is final for the three CYO cheerleading polls we posted on SILive.com this past week, asking which teams would win the three different scoring divisions in the 2019 Staten Island championships.
Our Lady Help of Christians beat out Our Lady Star of the Sea, 7,633-5,807, to claim the varsity crown. More than 17,000 votes were cast in the poll.
St. Clare edged OLSS to win the Debs Large Schools poll, 3,791-3,670.
In the Debs Small Schools pool, St. Patrick won big, recording 66 percent of the vote.
Here's order of appearance for the teams
Debs Division goes first, followed by the Varsity and then the Biddy.

The event is underway in front of a packed house in The Tank at CSI.
The crowd is so large that we are having connectivity issues with the internet at CSI. It's affecting this live blog and our Snapchat by Nick Regina, who is doing his best.
Seems like the new WiFi internet system at CSI is not up to par.
